    Detailed Description
I need a simple but visually compelling website - a global repository for health issues related to pollution and climate change/ global warming. I am seeking a like-minded developer who also cares about global warming and the health of our kids to make this website a success.

The website should allow users to upload news articles and to discuss them. I like the way Linkedin.com allows members of a Group to submit a news article and then other members can submit their opinions. On Linkedin, you enter the article URL first and this way the user gets automatically default entries for title, article summary and source. It also allows for comments by the submitting user and a tickbox 'Follow this discussion. Get notified by email about new comments'. Additional fields we would need are tags for keyword searches, publishing date and geography/ies.

The administrator needs to be able to moderate the discussion - I like the way you can do that on Google Groups.

When uploading a news article (or document), the user should specify which geography it covers - e.g. is it only about Sydney or Australia or global. It would be great if we could then visualise those areas on Google Maps with pins on the map representing each news article.

This knowledge base needs then a search function by geography, keyword, date and health category.

This is a wishlist - if one feature is particularly hard to do, then I rather drop that feature.

It is a website run by volunteers for the community. I am looking for a developer who can do this job at a reduced rate or maybe even free of charge. I am obviously paying for all necessary expenses like licenses, hosting, etc. If you can do this job for free, we would 'repay' you with appropriate, free advertising on the site.
