eBay meets Yellow Pages

SYDNEY: Let your fingers do the walking? Stuff that, let the tradesmen do it all . . .

WhoCanDo.com.au is a new site hoping to revolutionise Australia's services marketplace - dominated by traditional directories sites like Yellow.com.au.

The site offers a reverse-auction process that allows people to post jobs they need done and for service providers to bid for those jobs - using a similar auction style as eBay.

Founder Robert Finkeldey said the services requested on the site typically include removals, paint and renovation jobs, but there are no limits to what can be advertised.

"WhoCanDo changes the rules of engagement as buyers no longer have to chase service providers but receive, compare and select quotes online," said Finkeldey.

Service providers, in turn, can upload their own profiles to the site, showing feedback from previous customers.
