Helpful Tips and Tools for your Job Description - to make it easier to bid on your job in Tiling & Tile Repairs

Please consider the following when writing your job description:
  • Slate and marble are a bit more difficult to install than ceramic or quarry tiles – they might require a specialist tiler, so be specific what type of tiles you want to be installed
  • Describe the area to be covered with tiles in square metres
  • If you supply the tiles, make sure that you have 10% to 15% for wastage when you order.
  • To avoid colour variation, make sure all tiles are from the same batch.
  • If you want the tiler to provide grout and adhesives, then describe surface – cement, timber, etc might require different types of adhesives
  • Attach clear photo(s) of the work area or a plan so that the tiler understands potential difficulties doing the job.
  • Note that underlay is typically done by a carpenter before the tiler does his job.
