Please be specific in your job description about what is to be fenced, in particular:
  • How easy is the access to the fence (by truck/ walking distance)?
  • Are there any obstacles to work around (e.g. trees, shrubs, concrete)?
  • Does an old fence need to be removed and what sort of fence is it?
  • What is the exact use of the fence?
  • What kind of gate(s) are required? (e.g. pedestrian, vehicle, automatic, self-closing, self-latching)
  • On what type of terrain is the fence to be built? (e.g. flat, steep slope, mixed grade)
  • On what type of foundation is the fence to be built? (e.g. clean top soil, soil with loose rocks [small/large], concrete, primarily sand, clay, solid rock)
  • Photos are very important to get good bids - if you don't have them at hand, then post the job now and you can add photos later.
